First designed by mademoiselle Coco Chanel in the early 20s, the black jacket was not expected to become such a phenomenon now in 2012, more than 80 years after its creation. Chanel's little black jacket has grown to become a symbol of elegance, femininity and power, making it a staple in the wardrobes of women across the globe. To ensure this timeless classic lives on, Karl Lagerfeld and Carine Roitfeld have worked together in order to publish a book titled: 'The Little Black Jacket: Chanel's Classic Revisited'. The book features 113 images of industry tastemakers from Coco Chanel herself, Anna Wintour, Natalia Vodianova, Kanye West, Yoko Ono, Daphne Guinness, Olivier Theyskens, Aymeline Valade, Mariacarla Boscono, Alexander Wang, Sarah Jessica Parker, Laetitia Casta, Alice Dellal and Georgia May Jagger...all wearing the little black jacket in their own way. The only person missing on the photos: Karl, himself. Of his absence he said: “I’m able to say to those who ask why they weren’t asked to be in it, ‘I am not in it, either." ;) Enjoy!
