Let's talk beauty today! After receiving so many questions about my beauty routine on IG ( Lima Ché @instagram.) I thought it was time to share this post with you! Ever since I was a teenager, I have been obsessed with fashion, makeup and beauty. That's probably also the reason why I started modelling at the age of 12. ;) I have spent countless hours in drugstores trying out foundations and lipglosses. Every time I received pocket money from my parents or cash earned from jobs, I splurged it on beauty products. Over the years of collecting and trying different products, I've finally found my favorite cosmetics that perform well and do their jobs. So, here are my tried and true essentials:
Before I wear any make-up it's important for me to have a clean and hydrated skin. I use the "MIA2 from Clarisonic" to purify my face and to take off my makeup because it removes much more then a cotton. It massages my face and leaves my skin soft and smooth. I love the way it feels. The Clarisonic Sonic Cleansing system is a very effective product for cleaning your face. I would encourage everyone to make the investment. It helps for cell regeneration, removal of dead skin cells and dirt. I just recently received my Clarisonic and I am addicted to it. :) I don't think I can live without this little beauty must-have!
"Kiehl's Skin Rescuer" is a wonderful product. It treats, calms and hydrates the skin with chamomile, glycerin and shea butter. It also helps to limit the release of stress signals to the skin with an anti-inflammatory and it protect the skin barrier from future stress reactions with a unique blend of ceramides, squalane (a botanical lipid derived from olives) and mannose (a monosaccharide that reinforces the skin’s barrier). This lightweight lotion is super smoothing and has no perfume. You can apply it day and night and I also wear it under my sunscreen. It’s intended to be layered over a serum and you can put another moisturizer on top. I use the two other Kiehl's products that you can see above. "Kiehl's Powerful concentrate" for the day and the "Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate" at night. But, no worries if you want to trim a step because this can double as a moisturizer. If you’re up for sharing, this one is totally dude-approved too ;) I highly recommend this item!
I prefer "Chanel Mat Lumiere" on my skin for a mat natural finish. It's easy to blend and it gives my face a natural glow. The best tool for my foundation application is a MAC Foundation brush. "T. LeClerc" is my second favorite. Simply because it's without fragrance, paraben and it's made from plants. You can only buy it in a pharmacy. You don't need a tool to apply it because it already has a brush. It's easy and so soft! "Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse" is always in my handbag! You can use it for your face, body and hair. It's a dry oil with a golden shimmer that gives you a beautiful skin color. Before I go on stage, you can be sure I wear Nuxe! ;)
Blush is the easiest way to brighten up your overall look. My pick is the "MAC Coppertone Matte", (peach color shown above), "MAC Give Me Sun" (golden blush), the "Chanel 63 Plum Attraction" (small one), the "NYC Big Bold". But before I apply blush I use the "Chanel loose powder". Compared to most powders, this one does not leave a white cast. The texture is very fine and velvety. I use it to fix my foundation and only then I use my blush.
After trying many different concealers, "MAC" concealers are my favorite. They cover up all blemishes. The "Pure Skin Essence" cover-stick is also very good for redness or spots. I use the "Bobbi Brown" brush to give my eyebrows a nice shape. I often do a quick eyeliner to elongate my eyes with "MAC Fluidine". This step is a must for me. I do not mind skipping eyeshadows, foundations or blush, but not the eyeliner. The last step is a good curling of the lashes with a curler and then a sweep of the MAC mascara. The "Haute & Naughty Lash" mascara from MAC blew me away the first time I tried it. It gives your lashes a good coat of product to make them look fuller. My lashes do not feel clumpy nor wet. This is a real must-have! Believe me!
When I have a special occassion you will see me with one of these ;) I love to play with my eyes. People always ask me how I did my eye makeup? Well it's easy; a good eyeliner, mascara and gorgeous lashes from "Eylure". They are easy to apply, lightweight, contact lens friendly and reusable. Guaranteed an eye-catcher!
I adore 'Rimmel' cosmetics. Their 'Apocalips' lipglosses and 'Kate Moss' lipstick's are amazing! I love their shades and texture. I also use the YSL Rouge Volupte lipsticks; they are light, covering and the cream texture becomes fluid in contact with the lips. On the top of each tube is a mirror, which, while small, is usable when you need a touch up. This is the creamiest, most pigmented and deliriously glossy formula I have ever tried.
Do you use one of these cosmetics? Let me know :)
Love, Lima xoxo

I did use the Huile Prodigieuse when I lived in France, but I must confess that these days I'm more into making my own beauty products or rather using simple things with very little ingredients; ie. organic extra-virgin coconut oil with a few drops of 100% pure lavender essential oil. But when it comes to make-up, I have too much of it, because I like to try a lot of different things that fill up my drawers... Ugh, what can we do, hahaha.
